Thay: this lands were merely affected by the Starfall. This independant cities became Thesk and the Golden Way was created. They found ruins of the Nar civilization and built new cities over the ruins. Thesk: this lands were unclaimed until the end of the Dark Age, when Damarans, Shou and Tuigans started to explore the lands of the east. The nameless spirits helped them heal the land during the Dark Age. Rashemen: the wytchlaran, heirs of Raumathar, united the barbarians and Rashemen was born to fight against a demon-lord. This nameless spirits now inhabit all the eastern lands, specialy Rashemen. Nameless spirits were dispatched by Silvanus to help heal the nearby lands. When the war and the Starfall destroyed the cities and armies, the Great Dale became a secure place in wich demons and savage warriors dare not enter. The forests of this region were protected by The Oakfather. The Great Dale: they were never part of the Narfell Empire. Those elves protected the Yuirwood and intermarried with humans, giving birth to the nation of half-elves. Only a handfull of brave elves stayed in Toril. Demons summoned by the Nar claimed the land and barbarian tribes fought for survival in that hostile environment.Īglarond: the elves of Yuireshanyaar forsaw the Starfall and fled to Sildeyuir. This catastrophe destroyed both empires and the land experienced a Dark Age wich lasted centuries. The greatest fragments fell in the Inner Sea, causing a great tsunami wich destroyed lot of coastal cities. Countless star-shards fell over Narfell, Raumathar and the near regions. They miscalculated the spell effect and it could have destroyed Faerun but some divinity/power (maybe the wytchlaran) saved the day, shattering the falling star. In the end of war, Raumathar used epic magic to cast a great star to fall over Narfell. History: merge Raumathar with the empire Thassilion fought against (I can't find the name of that civilization) and include something similar to Earthfall.Tatoo magic and runic magic used in the east (especialy in Thay and Thesk) are a legacy from Narfell. Their demon-summoners were not so important, instead they are remembered for their runic magic and the 7 schools of magic. Merge Thassilion with Narfell: Narfell was an empire ruled be the powerfull runelords. I'll try to mantain the 3.5 setting, but I'm not afraid to change things in a way they seem cooler and better for the Adventure Path. I like it, but I preffer to tinker with it to adjust it to my needs. Now I'm working on the background of the adventure and the setting, rewriting their history and geography.īefore reading, keep in mind that I don't care about Forgotten Realms canon. I decided to run Rise of the Runelords in the Unapproachable East, using the sugestions BlackMoria gave me. Riddleport is part of Algarond or Thesk, transitioning to the Yuirwood then finally to Evermeet Riddleport is part of the Lhazaar Principalities, transitioning to Valenar then to Aerenal. So does a eastern Great Dales / Rasheman area setting. A Silver Marches tie in with Kingmaker taking place in the area near the High Forest works. The Eldeen Reaches is best due to the fey foreshadowing.Īlmost any area of unclaimed territory is a good candidate. The Eldeen Reaches is the best choice through one can have Droaam or the Shadow Reaches as good alternative location. Sarlona is the best choice given the very arid desert setting.Ĭalimshan with Calimport replacing Katapesh. Khorvosa is a coastal city in Durpar, the Cinderlands is the extreme eastern end of the Shaar with Scarwall somewhere near the Raurin Desert and the Giant Belt mountains Khorvosa is a city on the coastal area of Karrnath, the Cinderlands is part of the Talenta Plains with Scarwall in Darguun Stoval Plateau region is the escarpment areas between Rasheman and Thay with Xin Shalast being in the eastern end of the Icerim Mountains. Sandpoint becomes Nyth on west edge of the Great Dale, Magnimar become Teflamm. Other locations in the AP become locations interior of Xen'Drik with Xin Shalast being the most inaccessible mountainous region on Xen'Drik Sandpoint becomes a costal town near Stormreach, Magnimar becomes Stormreach.
